The photo is of Nagan Folk Village near Gwangju, South Korea (Gwangju has a big international well-known biennale every year that you might be interested in seeing). Nagan is Korea's best preserved fortress town, surrounded by a 1410m stone wall that is a few hundred years old. It is filled with old style Korean stone homes thatched with reeds. Many are now converted into restaurants, souvenir shops and rooms to rent in private homes, but still a lot of farmers live in the village homes using traditional methods of farming hundreds of years old.
