In Wisconsin it is -10 °F or -23 °C right now with warnings of wind chills as low as -45 °F (about the same Celsius) and they predict it is going to be even colder Wednesday!  Stay SAFE Wisconsin!  BTW: it is a chilly 64 °F or 18 °C here in Kuwait...

getting our studio ready in Korea...

Painting over the so-called Museum of Graffiti Art
Seungki Cho and Jonah Whipp repairing our studio furnishings
Almost complete after the painting, repairs, and hanging up some traditional Korean sun blinds
It has taken a lot of time and work to get our studio ready for our artist residency program at MITE UGRO.  The two "artists" before us had turned the studio into what they called a "Museum of Graffiti Art" so we had to use four cans of white paint to cover it all (btw: when one of the graffiti artists got back to the US he was immediately arrested and put in jail, we also saw a news report that they both are wanted on a $10,000 fine for painting graffiti over some other artist's work here in Korea).  Much of the rest of our time has been spent cleaning, figuring out where to purchase items, get relatively decent food that is not too expensive, and even where to get our clothes washed... this has all taking a lot of time and energy, especially in such hot and humid weather everyday (it was only 88 degrees today but the humidity got up to 98%)!!!!

Anyways, only 5 days left to donate to the film we are shooting in Korea!  Spread the word and donate if you can, if we don't reach our goal we don't get anything:  ì— Yeok ( The Station)

...up to 108°F today!

It has been over 100°F for about the last two weeks and it is up to 108°F today!

The real problem was that my office got up to about 85°F today and I still have a lot of office work to do... we still have another week of classes and then a week of final exams/final critiques! ...yikes!!!

evil sandstorm approaching!

it felt like something evil taking over the city, turning day into night, and the fine sand came right into my apartment despite every window being closed, it was difficult to breath... I spend 6 hours today cleaning up and there is still more sand... everyone here says this was the worst sandstorm in 20 years...

rain storm in the desert!

woke up and jumped out of bed to a big 'squish'... the carpet by my bed was soaking wet (at first I worried that maybe I had slept walked and never made it to the bathroom!)... but then I also saw a big water puddle in my living room and soon realized that rain had slowly leaked in from the windows and balcony doors... unusually, it had rained all last night and had been getting colder and kind of rainy for the last few days... apparently windows and doors are not weather proofed in Kuwait, probably because it gets so little rain (yearly average rainfall is about 4.5 inches)...

it sucked and I spent all morning cleaning it up, but at least nothings seems to have been ruined..
